The Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Mr. Altbert Chalamila, on June 24, 2025, opened a working session organized by TANESCO for Local Government Chairmen from Kinondoni and Ubungo Municipal Councils at the Ubungo Plaza, Dar es Salaam.
RC Chalamila, opening the working session, said that local government chairmen are important stakeholders in the implementation of various government projects because projects are implemented in their administrative areas, even though many TANESCO projects are located in those areas.
“I believe that through this working session, all chairmen are going to become ambassadors to explain the good services provided by TANESCO and also to protect the infrastructure of the Organization”, said Mr. Chalamila.
He commended TANESCO for seeing the importance of meeting with this important group so that it can understand in depth the responsibilities of the organization but also provide ideas and advice on the best way to improve the provision of electricity services to citizens, especially in their areas.
TANESCO Executive Director, Mr. Lazaro Twange said the organization, recognizing that Local Government Chairpersons are important stakeholders, decided to organize a working session for them to develop a good communication system that will help us know what citizens say about TANESCO services and also enable the chairpersons to understand what the organization is doing as well as educate citizens in their areas.
TANESCO Director, Mr. Twange has presented RC Chalamila and a few Local Leaders with an Electric Stove that uses less electricity as a support to the efforts of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan to promote the use of clean energy in the community.
