Deputy Minister of Energy, Mrs. Judith Kapinga has said that the cost of filling LPG cylinders is affordable as part of the ongoing efforts by the Government to facilitate the use of Clean Cooking Energy.
Mrs. Kapinga said this on June 16, 2025 during the visit of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan to Simiyu region during the inauguration of the Simiyu Girls’ Science Special School which has been equipped with clean cooking energy infrastructure.
“The President directed us to install clean cooking energy infrastructure in institutions that serve more than one hundred people, the Ministry of Energy in collaboration with RALGM is implementing the order by installing clean energy systems in new schools that are being built”, said Mrs. Kapinga
She explained that the school has a capacity of 800 students and the closed Clean Cooking Energy systems have the capacity to serve 800 students.
She added that, with the number of 800 students, the gas cylinder at Simiyu Girls’ School will be filled every two months.
