Nyamguma Mahamud, a journalist from Mlimani FM, has emerged as the winner of the Samia Kalamu Awards 2025 for the Clean Cooking Energy category, where the Ministry of Energy has recognized his contribution by presenting him with various prizes to continue promoting the provision of Clean Cooking Energy education.
The awards ceremony was held in Dar es Salaam with the guest of honor being the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Mohamud was presented with his prizes by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Engineer Felchesmi Mramba on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko.
The winner was presented with five million shillings in cash, a laptop, a low-power stove and electricity units for a year.
“We recognize the issues she has written about in promoting clean cooking energy, so we have also presented her with a modern electric stove that uses low electricity along with electricity to use at home for one year”, said Engineer Mramba
He said the Clean Cooking Energy Award is an example of supporting the efforts of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan in promoting the use of clean cooking energy.
The ‘Samia Kalamu Awards’ is organized by the Tanzania Women Journalists Association (TAMWA) and the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) with the theme “Uzalendo Ndio Ujanja”
