Agakhan Corporation has provided Health products and personal protective equipment (Personal Protective Equipment) against Monkey Flu (M-POX) worth more than 200 million shillings.
The equipment has been handed over to the Minister of State, Office of the President – TAMISEMI Mr. Mohamed Mchengerwa September 07, 2024 at the Ikwiriri Kilichopo Health Center in Rufiji district in Pwani region.
Speaking during the event, Agakhan’s Liaison Officer Mr. Juma Dosa has said that they have decided to support Minister Mchengerwa’s efforts to improve the health of the people in the country and by doing so they have brought health products and medical equipment worth more than 1 million shillings. 200 for protection against M-Pox infection.
Mr. Dosa added that the aid went in parallel with the screening services for cervical, cervical and prostate cancer here in Ikwiriri and these services will be provided free of charge for a period of 2 days.
Speaking after receiving health products, the Minister of State, Office of the President (TAMISEMI), Mr. Mohamed Mchengerwa has thanked the Aghakan for their contribution to Rufiji Health services and has asked the people of Rufiji to use the opportunity to come to the Clinic for their Health examination.
He has instructed the Director of Health, Social Welfare and Nutrition Dr. Rashid Mfaume to make the correct distribution of protective equipment against the M-Pox disease and send them to the border areas.
