The ‘Mwenge wa Uhuru’ will be carried to Dar es Salaam 392.22Km, it will be received on April 13, 2026

Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Mr. Albert Chalamila has asked the people of the region to come out in the race for the Torch of Freedom, which is expected to arrive in the city on April 13, 2026, coming from the North Unguja Region, where it will run a distance of 392.22 kilometers through all five districts of the region, inspecting, launching and laying foundation stones for 35 projects worth 113.5 billion shillings.

Speaking to journalists, Mr. Chalamila has said that the goal of the torch of freedom race is to bring unity, solidarity and brotherhood among Tanzanians where he said that on April 13, after arriving, you will be driven to Ilala district;-

April 14 Kigamboni district,
April 15 Temeke district,
April 16 Ubungo district,
April 17 Kinondoni district and
April 18 The Region will hand over the Coastal Region.

Mr. Chalamila said the Torch of Freedom for this year carries the message of maintaining peace, unity and national unity under the slogan “Tanzania is All Ours, Let’s Stand Together to Bring Development”.

He said the permanent message of the race is to strengthen the fight against HIV/AIDS, Drugs, Nutrition and Corruption, so he called on the people to come out in large numbers in all the Districts where the Torch of Freedom will be run.

The Governor of Dar es Salaam, Mr. Albert Chalamila, receiving the Uhuru Tourch 2025, ready to begin its rollout in the Da es Salaam region.

Mr. Chalamila also said the issue of petroleum and diesel energy where he has doubted the citizens and residents of the region that until now there is no shortage of fuel even though there is a challenge of increasing the price of the product.

He has used the opportunity to ask politicians to stop using the issue of the increase in the price of oil politically because the issue is global due to the war that occurred and caused the increase in the price of oil on the World Market, the change in the cost of importing oil and the change in the value of the dollar while insisting that the Government under the President, Dr. Samia continues with strategies and has better fuel storage systems so that such a challenge becomes history.

He continued to say the visit of the Prime Minister, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba that he did last week at the Ubungo fire market called 2000 and said that the instructions he gave are being implemented along with those given by the minister of TAMISEMI.
