The First Lady of Zanzibar, Msarifu and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Zanzibar Maisha Bora Foundation (ZMBF) Mama Mariam Mwinyi has met with the leadership of the Tanzania Women’s Medical Association (MEWATA) who arrived at her Office at the State House, Migombani on March 30, 2026.
The delegation was led by the President of the association, Dr. Mary Mwanyika Sando.
Mama Mariam Mwinyi has also thanked MEWATA for showing their commitment to collaborate with ZMBF on various issues including health issues, nutritional education and various studies on the Mwani crop.
She has also stated that ZMBF is ready to collaborate with MEWATA in these various fields.
MEWATA President Dr. Mary Mwanyika has congratulated Mama Mariam Mwinyi for the great successes she has achieved through her ZMBF Foundation by reaching out to the people in various Medical Camps and health screenings held under the coordination of ZMBF.
She has helped, to uplift Women economically especially Seaweed Farmers, to help Girls with Tumaini type of female towels, nutrition education and to encourage them to exercise in the fight against non-communicable diseases.
Likewise, MEWATA has invited Mama Mariam Mwinyi to participate in the African Women Doctors conference to be held in Zanzibar on May 05, 2027.
She has also informed that MEWATA is ready to collaborate with ZMBF in various programs.
