The Commissioner General of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda, has said that the Authority will continue to facilitate the rapid release of Petrol and Diesel fuel from storage facilities to the market.
Speaking at a meeting between him and the Leaders of the Association of Petrol and Diesel Fuel Station Owners in the country (TAPSOA) held on March 24, 2026 at the TRA offices in Dar es Salaam with the aim of continuing to facilitate the trade, Commissioner General Mwenda said that TRA is not ready to see any delay in the product entering the market.
He said that TRA will continue to bring balance to the fuel trade in the country in order to ensure fair competition in the market by controlling the diversion of fuel shipments by unscrupulous traders.
Commissioner General Mwenda said that TRA will continue to facilitate the fuel trade in the country so that it continues to be carried out effectively and listen to the challenges faced by fuel station owners and provide timely solutions.
Speaking at the meeting, TAPSOA Secretary Mr. Tino Mmasi thanked the TRA Commissioner General for continuing to listen to them and resolve their challenges, promising that petrol station owners in the country will continue to pay taxes voluntarily and collaborate with TRA to close tax evasion loopholes.
