The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has advised the leadership of the Zanzibar Economic, Social and Policy Research Centre (ZRCP) to organize meetings and discussions with stakeholders to educate them on the importance of using research findings in the implementation of their responsibilities.
President Dr. Mwinyi said this, on March 24, 2026, when he met with the Director General of the centre, Mr. Juma Reli, and his delegation who arrived at the State House, Zanzibar.
He said it was important to make improvements in digital payment registration systems to enhance timeliness and transparency, especially in the public sector, and advised a review of policies, laws and regulations in the area.
The Director General of the Zanzibar Economic, Social and Policy Research Centre (ZRCP), Mr. Juma Hassan Reli, has supported the recommendations and stated that the centre is ready to collaborate with the Government in providing research.
Recommendations that will contribute to improvements in digital payment systems, including supporting the review of policies, laws and regulations to enhance transparency and efficiency in the public sector.
