Quran Competitions Promote Tanzania – President Dr. Mwinyi

The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Alhaj, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has said that the Great International Quran Competitions for all continents in the world have continued to be a catalyst for strengthening the love of the Quran, building values ​​among the youth and placing Tanzania on the international map with the honor of organizing competitions at a high level.

He said this, on March 01, 2026 at the competition held at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, organized by the Al Hikma Foundation, involving participants from various continents around the world.

President Dr. Mwinyi has emphasized that the competition is not only a platform for competition, but is part of strengthening the honor of the nation, developing the foundations of Tajweed and Hifdh to international standards, as well as raising a generation with strong values ​​and beliefs.

Winners of the 2026 International Holy Quran Competition:

1.     Abdulrahman Yasin, Uganda – 97% – USD 12,000
2.     Mohamed Mustafa, Canada – 96.5% – USD 8,000
3.     Shueyb Mohamed, Sweden – 96.2% – USD 5,000
4.     Bilal Ahmad, Réunion – 95% – USD 4,000
5.     Bilal Hassen, New Zealand – 94.5% – USD 3,000

President Dr. Mwinyi congratulated all participants for their great skills, noting that these achievements are the result of personal efforts, excellent upbringing by teachers and family support.

He encouraged the community to continue reading, understanding and working on the Quran as a light and guide for daily life in order to build a nation with solidarity and good morals.

The event was attended by Religious Leaders, Government, Ambassadors, Islamic Scholars and thousands of citizens who came out to witness this historic event of international stature.
