Muhimbili National Hospital-Mloganzila has received assistance with a Point of Care Ultrasound Machine from Anudha Medical Equipment Company, an important step in improving medical services for newborns.
Speaking during the handover of the machine, Deputy Executive Director, Dr. Julieth Magandi said the device will be a great help in speeding up the diagnosis of various health problems in newborns.
The machine can perform quick and accurate examinations, a step that will enable doctors to make timely professional decisions and thus save the lives of children who need emergency care.
For his part, the Head of the Pediatric Department, Dr. Karungi Karoma, said the Point of Care Ultrasound Machine
has the potential to reduce the time associated with the examination as the results are provided immediately.
He explained that the device helps reduce the need to transfer the child to another place for tests, which usually increases the risk for a child with a fragile condition.
Anudha Company Marketing Officer Mr. Tom Rweiza said that the support is part of the company’s efforts to collaborate with the Government and health institutions to improve health services, especially for groups with special needs such as infants.
