The Minister of Energy, Mr. Deogratius Ndejembi on February 14, 2026, handed over transport equipment to TANESCO managers in Skonge, Urambo and Igunga Districts in Tabora Region to strengthen service delivery to citizens and resolve their challenges in a timely manner.
Speaking while handing over the vehicles to the TANESCO Manager in Urambo District on behalf of others, on January 14, 2026, Mr. Ndejembi commended the Executive Director, Mr. Lazaro Twange, for taking immediate steps to ensure that citizens are reached regardless of their circumstances.
He said the move to purchase equipment is to live out the vision of the President, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan on performance in public organizations where TANESCO has set an example and now approximately 5.6 million customers will receive reliable electricity and be served on time.
“I wish to see you make big changes in reaching customers quickly, in the area of ​​listening to and serving customers we are doing very well, now let’s increase our strength to solve customers’ challenges in a timely manner using these means of transport” explained Hon. Ndejembi.
TANESCO CEO Mr. Lazaro Twange said that so far TANESCO has received 120 vehicles including trucks and small cars, this step is aimed at ensuring that citizens are served effectively.
“So far we have received 120 vehicles, including trucks, another 12 large crane vehicles at the port, recently we received 51 vehicles with the aim of distributing them to various regions including Tabora region where so far we have brought five vehicles” emphasized Mr. Twange.
TANESCO has continued to make efforts to purchase transport equipment including small cars, trucks and motorcycles to ensure that customers are reached and their challenges are resolved quickly.
