WAF, Geita: The government has reduced maternal and child mortality by 80% over a period of seven years from 556 deaths per 100,000 live births to 104 deaths per 100,000 live births

Dr. Sunday said the five-year project will be implemented in Kigoma, Katavi, and Geita regions.
Dr. Sunday added that the project is funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Gates Foundation, development partners that collaborate with the Government in the health sector.
He said the partners will collaborate closely in the implementation of the project to contribute to the government’s efforts to ensure that the goals of reducing maternal and child mortality during childbirth are achieved, towards the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
