The Tanzania Electricity Corporation (TANESCO) has received 51 new vehicles out of 100 vehicles expected to arrive by the end of this month, a move aimed at increasing the speed and efficiency of providing quality services to customers in various areas of the country.
Speaking on February 06, 2026, the Head of the Transport Unit at the Headquarters, Mr. Thomas Gowele, said the ‘Toyota Land Cruiser Double Cabin’ vehicles will play a major role in delivering electricity services to citizens on time.
He said in areas that were previously not easily accessible due to environmental challenges.
“We have already received a total of 51 vehicles out of the 100 vehicles we expect to receive soon. We believe the arrival of these vehicles will increase the efficiency and speed of serving our customers, especially in rural areas,” explained Mr. Gowele.
He advised the employees who will be given the vehicles to use them for their intended purposes to fulfill the Corporation’s mission of ensuring that every citizen is reached with reliable electricity service.
TANESCO has continued to make efforts to purchase transport equipment, including small cars, pickup trucks and motorcycles, to ensure that all areas requiring electricity service are reached more easily and efficiently.
