Muhimbili National Hospital-Mloganzila has continued to support the Government’s efforts to care for and preserve the environment, where today it has planted 33 shade trees at the hospital.
Leading the exercise, MNH Executive Director, Dr. Delilah Kimambo said tree planting fulfills the concept of an environmentally friendly hospital, contributes to national and international agendas of health, environment and climate change, thus it is an important part in fulfilling the environmental, social and governance (ESG) policy.
She explained that the hospital protects and preserves the environment by ensuring the management of hospital waste (hazardous and non-hazardous) and the use of clean energy (solar, efficient electricity).
He said tree planting reduces air pollution and noise, the aim is to protect the environment and reduce the impact of the hospital on the climate.
