The Minister of Finance, Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar (MP), has directed the National Insurance Corporation (NIC) to prepare effective strategies to align with the direction of the country’s long-term plans, which show great opportunities for economic growth, especially in the Insurance Sector.
Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar (MP), gave these instructions in Dodoma when he met and held talks with the Leadership of the National Insurance Corporation (NIC) with the aim of discussing various issues regarding opportunities to continue to grow the country’s economy.
He said that the implementation of the National Development Vision 2050, there are great economic opportunities where the insurance sector is mentioned as one of the sectors with a major contribution in stimulating development, so NIC must plan how to seize these opportunities.
“We have big plans for the country, looking at the Five Year Plan and the National Development Vision 2050 which shows economic opportunities and opportunities in the insurance sector, NIC as a public organization must plan towards those plans because there will be industrial development, there will be industrial zones and special industrial zones, agriculture and other things”, said Ambassador Khamis.
He instructed them to advertise themselves and increase the speed of providing insurance education to the citizens so that they can recognize the opportunities available in the sector as well as the importance of insurance especially during disasters.
The Acting Managing Director of the National Insurance Corporation (NIC), Mr. Kaimu Abdi Mkeyenge, said the organization has been doing well in carrying out its responsibilities.
He said they have planned to provide better services across the country and invest more in development projects such as industries, infrastructure and capital markets with the main goal being to increase national income.
