President Samia has ordered the police force to stop searching for Bishop Gwajima – Dr. Mwigulu

PRIME MINISTER Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba has said President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has ordered the police force to stop searching for Bishop Dr. Josephat Gwajima as they had previously announced so that he can continue his activities.

He said after granting forgiveness to the Church of Resurrection and Life, believers need to see their leader, so he should come out in public and continue with his work.

“Let him come forward and let us build national unity, let us unite to restore national unity. We have met with TEC, religious leaders, traditional leaders and various leaders, let us all go to this issue, let us come forward and mobilize for a peaceful Tanzania, this is the call of our country’s leader”, he said

The Prime Minister said this on November 30, 2025 while addressing hundreds of Arumeru residents at a public meeting held at Magufuli Leganga Stadium, Usa River Ward, Arumeru District, Arusha Region.

The Prime Minister has urged Tanzanians to refuse to be influenced by activists who incite violence as they are holding back the country’s development.

“I have come to offer my condolences to my fellow citizens, on behalf of His Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan. He is aware of the ongoing issues. He is aware of the great work of nation-building that you are doing”, he said

Before the meeting, the Prime Minister inspected the damage done during the violence of October 29, this year at the Kikatiti police station (500 meters from the Arusha – Moshi highway), the Maji ya Chai Primary Court (km. 3 from the highway), the Total Energies petrol station in Maji ya Chai (located on the road) which were all set on fire including the theft of property from the supermarket and the demolition of a safe deposit box.

The Prime Minister said that the development issues of the district such as water and roads are in the CCM Manifesto and in the promises of His Excellency the President but will only be implemented if the country is peaceful.

“If we choose violence, we will have chosen to chase away development, if we choose violence, we will have chosen to increase poverty for each person”, he warned

Every Tanzanian should reject what happened recently. We have been provoked, we have been confused but they are outside, they are paid just to disturb us. Most of those who incite violence are activists, they are outside the country. No political party leader is telling the people to commit violence. Or have you seen him?”, questioned the Prime Minister.

He said some of the youths who are abroad have been found to have received two million US dollars (equivalent to 4.5 billion shillings) to incite violence.

“These people who pay them, what interest do they have in our country?, What agenda do they have with our country?, Do we know how they will return the money?”

“These people are targeting us to take rare earth minerals. Tanzania has just discovered uranium, making it the ninth country in the world and the first in Africa. It has 890,000 cubic tons. This is almost one million tons,” he said.

The Prime Minister has warned against the game used to start a provocation to disintegrate a country when it is discovered to have resources. He said that some countries in Africa were affected by these provocations. “They start provocations, they leave you in chaos, when the resources run out, they leave,” he stressed.

“Tanzanians, let us wake up, let us be careful. There is a game being played. They know that Tanzania has a lot of natural gas and it is about to start. They know that if these projects start, Tanzania will be the first in East Africa and we will not need to give out student loans,” he said

He called on Tanzanians to wake up and refuse to be returned to a state of violence again, Tanzanians, let us wake up, let us refuse to be returned to the past. Poverty will be eliminated when the country is at peace. Jobs for the youth will be available when the country is at peace.

He said that while there is violence, even the carrot and tomato farmers of Ngarenanyuki will not be sold and thus affect the economy of an individual.
