The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation has received two Land Cruiser Prado vehicles from the State of Qatar to serve leaders who come for national and official visits to the country.
Qatar as a partner in Tanzania’s economic development accepted the request and has provided the new vehicles following a request for cars and motorcycles to serve foreign leaders who are on tour in the country while continuing the process of bringing six motorcycles.
Speaking at the ministry’s sub-offices in Dar es Salaam after being handed over the documents for the vehicles, the Minister, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo (Mb.) thanked Qatar for being a major player in Tanzania’s development and promised to use this aid well to be able to solve challenges that arise in the work.
Handing over the keys to the vehicles to the Chief Transport Officer, Mr. Maulid Mkenda, Minister Kombo urged him to maintain the vehicles so that they last and bring productivity and efficiency.
Qatar has also been providing cooperation in youth employment issues by providing job opportunities for Tanzanian drivers in Qatar, while other positions continue to be announced.
