Government lawyers trained

The Attorney General’s Office has continued to enhance Government Lawyers’ skills in key professional areas, including international trade agreements, international arbitration laws and oil and gas issues.

A move aimed at improving their performance in managing and implementing strategic projects that are beneficial to the Nation.

Opening the training, on November 24, 2025 in Dar es Salaam on behalf of the Deputy Attorney General, Director of Coordination and Advisory Services, Ms. Neema Ringo, said the training has been specifically designed to increase the capacity of Government Lawyers in entering into and managing international agreements related to the implementation of major development projects.

Ms. Ringo explained that the training will strengthen the capacity of Government Lawyers in preventing and resolving conflicts, especially in the gas and oil sector, while building their skills in conducting professional negotiations.

“Government Attorneys are the main advisors to the Government, so it is important that they have a broad understanding of international laws that govern major strategic agreements that the Government enters into when implementing strategic projects”, said Ms. Ringo

She encouraged participants to participate fully and share experiences, noting that the training is an important investment in improving their performance and strengthening the implementation of the responsibilities of the Attorney General’s Office.

The trainer for the training is Clyde & Co, which has entered into a partnership agreement with the Attorney General’s Office with the aim of developing the capacity of its professionals and increasing efficiency in the implementation of various legal responsibilities.
