Muhimbili National Hospital-Mloganzila in collaboration with Specialist in Hip and Knee Transplantation, Prof. Mamoun Gadir from Queen Elizabeth Hospital in the UK expects to run a special camp for hip and knee replacements from December 01 to 05, 2025.
According to Specialist in Orthopedics and Trauma MHN-Mloganzila, Dr. Goodluck Lema, the holding of the camp is due to the high demand of many patients who come to seek the service at the hospital, so the hospital management saw the need to reduce the inconvenience for citizens to seek the service abroad.
He said that the patients who will benefit from the camp are those with severe hip problems and knees, where those with these challenges will be replaced and fitted with artificial hips and knees to relieve the pain they experience.
Others are those who need to undergo hip and knee replacements due to previously implanted hips and knees becoming misaligned or experiencing challenges that necessitate such treatment.
