Zanzibar President attends swearing-in ceremony of President of the United Republic of Tanzania

The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has attended the swearing-in ceremony of the President-elect of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.

The Chief Justice of Tanzania, Justice George Mcheche Masaju has sworn in. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan as President of the United Republic of Tanzania in accordance with the Constitution, to lead Tanzania for the second term of the Sixth Phase after winning the General Elections held on 29 October 2025.

The ceremonies were also accompanied by the swearing-in of the Vice President-elect, Dr. Emmanuel John Nchimbi, as Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Parade Ground, Chamwino Ikulu, Dodoma today, November 3, 2025, and was attended by Presidents and Heads of State of various countries, Ambassadors representing their countries, Representatives of International Communities and Organizations, Senior National Leaders and hundreds of Tanzanians.
