THE PRIME MINISTER, Kassim Majaliwa on October 23, 2025, inspected the construction of the Nandagala Police Station, Ruangwa in Lindi Region and ordered the station to start operations by November 01, 2025.
Mr. Majaliwa has instructed the Director of the Ruangwa District Council, Mr. Frank Chonya, to ensure that furniture is placed in the station so that it can be used to provide services to the residents of Ruangwa District.
“These citizens want this station to start working, the buildings are complete but only the seats are there, we cannot go back and demand from the IGP, the Director to supervise us to get seats here, along with paving this area, our goal is for the station to start working by November 1 this year”, he said.
The Lindi Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police, John Imori, said that 164 million shillings was allocated for the construction of a Grade C Police station, but the Honorable Prime Minister ordered that the station be built on a force account system and other funds should be used to build houses for Police Officers.
“We congratulate you, Honorable Prime Minister, your instructions to build using the force account system have enabled us to now have two houses for Police Officers, out of the 164 million shillings we added only 30 million shillings to complete these three buildings”, he said.
The construction of the center, which cost 194.3 million shillings, has reached 95 percent of implementation, its completion will enable citizens in 32 villages in 8 wards of Ruangwa District to access services.
Likewise, Honorable Majaliwa visited Liuguru Girls’ Secondary School where he explained to the students that the Sixth Phase Government led by President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has increased opportunities for girls to receive education in the country.
