Dodoma: The Tanzania Forest Services Agency (TFS) has announced the sale of ‘Misaji’ trees totaling 16,434.893 cubic meters through electronic auction, as part of efforts to increase transparency, efficiency and government revenue through the forestry sector.
A statement issued by the TFS Conservation Commissioner, Mr. Dos Santos Silayo on October 21, 2025, said the trees are located at the Longuza Tree Farm in Muheza Tanga with a volume of 6,113.421 m³ and the Mtibwa Tree Farm in Turiani in Morogoro region with a volume of 10,321.472 m³.
The auction will be held online via the https://emisitu.tfs.go.tz system in accordance with Regulation 31(ii) of the Forestry Regulations of 2004, with Longuza to be auctioned on November 10, 2025 and Mtibwa on November 11, 2025.
TFS has stated that participants are required to register online before 9:00 pm, Friday, November 7, 2025, while they are encouraged to inspect the trees in the field before the auction begins.
According to the auction terms, the winning buyer is required to pay 25 percent of the value within three working days after the auction, and the remaining 75 percent within 14 days, through the GePG system.
In addition, the buyer will be required to remove the trees within 60 days after paying 100 percent in full.
TFS has emphasized that it is not allowed to export the logs outside the country, and the trees are sold “where it is and as it is.”
The e-auction is expected to attract both local and foreign investors due to the transparency of the system and the quality of the massage trees being sold.
