Government loan providers should not ask for thanks through loans – Prime Minister

The Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Mr. Kassim Majaliwa, has said that loans provided by the Government to various groups of entrepreneurs and businessmen should be provided fairly without the presence of corrupt practices or applicants being forced to give thanks.

He said there are many complaints that loan applicants have not been given the full amount of money as they requested, instead they are forced to express gratitude through the funds.

Speaking at a meeting that brought together special groups in Dar es Salaam including Mama Lishe, Baba Lishe, youth, Women, Bodaboda, Machinga and various stakeholders, the Prime Minister, Mr. Kassim Majaliwa said that loan funds are provided by the President, to enable special groups but there is a challenge of borrowers being forced to express gratitude through the funds, which affects their work.

The Prime Minister, Mr. Kassim Majaliwa said the strategies of the President, Dr. Samia to strengthen public transport in the city by building a better infrastructure and allowing private companies to start providing Mwendokasi transport services which have now started to improve while also urging citizens to come out to vote on October 29, 2025.

He said that in addressing the employment challenge, the Prime Minister, Mr. Majaliwa has advised young people to study with a focus on the cadres that are in great need within the community but also to study professions that allow young people to be self-employed.

Before welcoming the Prime Minister, the Minister of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Dr. Doroth Gwajima said that the sixth phase Government under President, Dr. Samia has not left out any person or group of people in the development plan as it has been enabling all groups to achieve their goals.

The Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Mr. Albert Chalamila said that the Government under the President, Dr. Samia has been facilitating traders by strengthening road infrastructure, bridges, the presence of reliable electricity and improving Mwendokasi transport which was being complained about and has assured the safety of the city’s residents during the election period.

Some stakeholders and experts who participated in the meeting have thanked the Government for the instructions on the best way to provide loans so that it benefits small traders instead of the loans being a punishment for traders and have promised to participate in the vote on October 29, 2025.
