Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Mr. Albert Chalamila has visited Kimara’s ‘Kimara’ bus station and assures the public that within this week the ‘Mwendokasi’ buses will be added to the route to reduce transportation charges and that the government has already entered into an agreement with other private companies.
Mr. Chalamila said this after making a surprise visit on October 01,2025 after discovering the biggest concerns of citizens using the ‘Mwendokasi’ transport especially from the areas of Mbezi and Kimara to the city center.
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Chalamila said before the end of this week the government intends to bring a few buses while looking for a permanent solution.
He said at the request of citizens who emerged during the visit to demand that regular buses be allowed to send citizens to the center of the city via the ‘Movement’ route or the unusual way of ‘movement’.
Mr. Chalamila has promised the citizens that he is working quickly for the regular bus plan to be increased but not by using the ‘Mwemokasi’ method as his system does not allow the use of regular buses.
Some of the emerging citizens have called on the government to help end the issue by bringing enough buses but also by allowing regular buses to be added to make it easier for citizens to reach the places they work especially in the city center.
