Kyerwa: Residents of Mabira Ward in Kyerwa District have congratulated the Government for starting the construction of the Nkwenda-Mabira Road to asphalt level, claiming that once the road project is completed, they will increase customers to buy their produce and make transportation and transportation easier.
The National Independence Torch in 2025 has laid the foundation stone for the 1.0 kilometer long road which is expected to be completed in September this year.
Mr. Ramadhan Robert and Mr. Bosco Gabriel, residents of Mabira, said they have been facing the effects of dust and their property being disturbed, which leads to a lack of market, especially for crops because they are full of dust, but after the arrival of the project, as traders, they have been happy and claimed that once the project is completed, it will go hand in hand with street lights because the town has started to grow rapidly.
Kyerwa District TARURA Manager, Engineer Yezron Mbasha said the project has cost 471.3 million shillings, which is government money derived from fuel taxes.
He said the completion of the project will enhance the status of Mabira town and help transport crops from the area to other parts of the district and Kyerwa and neighboring districts.
National Freedom Torch Race Leader Brother Ismail Ussi has urged citizens to maintain and protect the Projects while commending TARURA for implementing quality and standard projects including increasing the speed of access to asphalt roads in villages and rapidly growing areas.
