Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa said monitoring and evaluation activities are an important tool for enabling the nation to achieve and achieve various development goals, it was an undeniable fact that all stakeholders and the community at large with a common understanding of monitoring and evaluation activities would be achieved.
He said on September 11, 2025 when he represented the President, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan at the opening of the Fourth National Conference for Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning held at the Hall of the Angels Beach Hotel, Mwanza.

The government has continued to make various efforts to strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems in the process of implementing the President’s vision, Dr. Samia to strengthen the testing of public institutions, accountability and acceleration and transparency in providing the service and well -being of the general public.
“Monitoring and evaluation activities involve the collection, analysis and testing of information on planned activities, implementation and results.
Mr. Majali has called on all responsible departments to ensure that they complete the preparation of the National monitoring and evaluation policy on the part of both governments to facilitate the enactment of a law that goes to guide monitoring and evaluation.
Also, Mr. Majali has instructed the Prime Minister’s Office and the Government Authority Network to complete the preparation of an integrated electronic monitoring and evaluation system.
It will be the main system of all monitoring and operational evaluation systems within the Government The aim is to be able to monitor government departments properly and will enable officials, decision makers and citizens to access accurate and temporary data.
“All senior executives use the information produced from monitoring and evaluation functions to make decisions and to put in place strong strategies to inform the public on the outcome of the implementation of government work more reliably”
, he said
Mr. Majali has called on the Association of African Evaluation Specialists (Afrea), to continue nurturing Tanes (Tanzania) and Zamea (Zanzibar) by giving them more capacity to carry out their responsibilities including leading them in technological changes in statistical and monitoring.
“Tane and Zamea, continue to strengthen yourself and accelerate all key stakeholders with the aim of exchanging experiences or discussing new and better strategies that will enable them to succeed in conducting their monitoring and evaluation,” he said.
Minister of State, Office of the Prime Minister Policy, Parliament and Coordination, Mr. William Lukuvi said in an effort to strengthen the country’s monitoring and evaluation unit, the Prime Minister’s Office in collaboration with the Network Authority – EGA has successfully started the construction of the National Electronic Monitoring and Evaluation System
“Government Wide Electronic Monitoring and Evaluation System”, which will receive information from other systems and recycle and facilitate preparations for government performance.
“The existence of the system will enable you to receive data, process them, translate them on time and enable the Government at all levels to use accurate data in planning, improve the implementation and determine you correctly”.
Secretary -General Office of the Prime Minister Policy, Parliament and Coordination Dr. Jim Yonaz said the government through the Prime Minister’s Office laid a solid foundation for strengthening monitoring and evaluation activities by establishing a government’s monitoring and evaluation department.
He said if the department, it has continued to be a pillar and a key department in contributing and continuing efforts to improve the assessment of the country’s assessment that has enabled public organizations and various institutions to learn from our department.
“And we say that not only locally but it has continued to be light even abroad, this is our intention to make it a center of learning and knowledge”, he said.
UN Resident Representative in Tanzania Suzan Ngongi has said that transparency and accountability have enabled Tanzania to make significant progress in the education, health, health, infrastructure and poverty programs
“These efforts have made Tanzania a role model in East and Central African countries,” he said.
