The President of Zanzibar and the Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement for the implementation of strategic and economic projects in various sectors worth US $ 10 billion.
The event, held at the White House on August 29 2025, in which Qatar was signed by one of the Qatar imperial family members, Hon. Sheikh Mansour bin Jabor bin Jassim Al Thani, who is also the owner of Al Mansour Holding Company will implement the projects.
On the part of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, the signing was represented by the Secretary -General of the Ministry of State, the Office of the President, Labor, Economics and Investment, Ndg. Khamis Mwalim Suleiman.
Speaking at the event, President Dr. Mwinyi has thanked the Qatar government for expressing a strong commitment to cooperate with Zanzibar in the implementation of strategic projects that require significant investment.
President Dr. Mwinyi has named the projects to include oil storage, construction of conference halls, port construction, tourism, blue economy and electricity.
Dr. Mwinyi has described the agreement as a comfortable step, noting that the projects have acquired investors with great financial capacity from abroad.
President Dr. Mwinyi said the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar is well positioned to ensure immediate implementation of the projects, which he has stated to increase the long -term cooperation between Qatar and Zanzibar.
