Tanzanian ambassador to Sweden, Hon. Ambassador Mobhare Matinyi, has met and held talks with the Swedish Foreign Minister, Hon. Maria Malmer Stenergard, at the offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Stockholm, today, August 22, 2025.
In the conversation, Hon. Ambassador Matinyi presented greetings to the public and the Swedish government from Drs. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, who is the number 1 Diplomat in the country, and emphasized Tanzania’s commitment to promote long -term diplomatic relations with economic cooperation with Sweden.
Ambassador Matinyi outlined the Tanzanian Government’s efforts to strengthen economic well -being through cooperation with Sweden, especially in the energy, education, health, research, environment, industrial production, and infrastructure projects such as the modern railway (SGR).
In the talks, Ambassador Matinyi noted that so far, a total of 101 companies from Sweden have invested in Tanzania in various sectors, worth US $ 313.04 million and contributing to approximately 3,877 jobs while emphasizing Tanzania’s intention to improve trade and investment between Sweden.
Sweden’s Foreign Minister, Hon. Stenergard, confirmed Sweden’s commitment to develop cooperation with Tanzania in business and investment matters.
In addition, Minister Stenergard urged Tanzania’s contribution to maintaining global peace and security, especially in seeking a permanent solution to the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
