Creative Director and co -chair of Austrian Dance Alps Festival, Ms. Beate Stibig-Nikkanen, has praised Tanzania for maintaining and promoting the art of its international culture.
The congratulations, were made when he held talks with Mr. Gerald Mbwafu, Senior Officer of the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania, Vienna, Austria on August 4, 2025 on the edge of the official opening ceremony of the International Indigenous Dance Festival held in St. Johann- Tirol, Austria.
Introducing the festival, Mrs. Stibig-Nikkanen explained that the International Dance Alps Festival is held annually between July and August in St. Johann-Tirol in the middle of the Kitzbühel mountains.
The festival includes a variety of dance styles, such as ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary and hip-hop.
The festival, also offers professional dance classes for children, youth and adults from different countries, performed by international choreograph, star players and dancers.
At the festival, Tanzania is represented by the Zanzibar Dance Group that had the opportunity to perform during the opening ceremony. Mr. The rapper thanked and congratulated the festival’s preparation secretariat.
He said since the festival’s establishment, about 12 years ago, it has been an important platform for promoting and maintaining cultural diplomacy among nations, a tool for sharing opportunities and creating a development network through cultures and tools to improve physical and mental health.
He said Tanzania values the great power of art – not only as a form of expression, but also as a bridge that connects people to cross borders. He explained that the culture of dance is a living language of unity, happiness and identity of the traditions and customs of the Tanzanian nation.
He said Tanzania is happy to be among the festival participants for two consecutive years and promised to develop the existing partnership and achieve the participation of more artists in the next concerts.
