Earlier content producers yesterday had to provide information that would bring chaos and chaos in the country especially towards the 2025 presidential election, parliamentarians and councilors to take place in October this year.
This was stated on August 03 2025 by the TCRA, Engineer Andrew Kisaka while presenting an article (topic) at a meeting organized by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) for content providers online.
He said during the election there is an environment of divisions, social tensions and high distortions so it is important for bloggers to avoid spreading rumors, reporting seriously, neutrality and denouncing hateful languages. Kisaka has called on the blogger across the country to strengthen their values and take on an important role in ensuring the elections are held in peace by raising productive content and if you see the content will bring up the sadness it is best to abandon it.
Kisaka has cited the history of the election chaos in Nigeria (2007) and Kenya (2011). In the riots more than 800 people lost their lives in Nigeria in 2011 while in Kenya more than 1,000 people lost their lives and another 600,000 lost housing. He said the vulnerability with high election pressure, the media could find themselves contributing to chaos by spreading rumors or stirring up political bias. He said to deal with disaster during the elections and after there are guidelines for reporting that solve those challenges.
“Rumors are the main source of violence so the media should investigate the rumors and provide accurate information as soon as possible to prevent the frequency of retaliation violence”, said Engineer Kisaka.
He has also urged bloggers to reject languages and headlines. “Do not report every incitement statement from politicians, even if those statements seem to be information to you and interesting the reader completely. He said this election period is good for the blog to take personal precautions to provide direct ‘live’ broadcasts of candidate campaigns because they can bring chaos.
“The live ‘live’ broadcast of the election chaos should be made by senior and experienced writers and not one man show as the blog. Those who encourage hatred and violence should not be given a chance in the air, “said Engineer Kisaka.
He said the media should prevent showing images that incite violence and, if necessary, to stop direct ads to prevent the situation worse. Disasters and guidelines for reporting in situations where elections are held during disaster are part of education provided for blogging in ensuring the nation safely crosses the 2025 elections as in other elections.
