The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council Alhaj Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi has said that peace is an important tool for the welfare of every sector in the country, so it is the responsibility of everyone to protect and maintain it, especially in this period leading up to the General Elections.
Alhaj Dr. Mwinyi said this on July 25, 2025 in Dodoma, immediately after participating in Friday Prayer with Muslim believers at the Sunni Muslim Jamaat Friday Mosque.
President Dr. Mwinyi said religious leaders, journalists and politicians are among the most influential people in society, so it is important that they be at the forefront in spreading the message of peace and solidarity.
President Dr. Mwinyi continued by saying that examples of the effects of conflicts and unrest are clearly visible through social media from countries without peace.
President Dr. Mwinyi has called on all Tanzanians to ensure peace is maintained before, during and after the elections for the future of the nation and future generations.
