Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko has called on the media to cooperate with the government in educating the community about the history of heroes in the country.
Dr. Biteko made the call on July 24, 2025 at the Stadium and the Heroes Tower in the State City, Mtumba in Dodoma shortly after reviewing the Heroes Day celebrations.
“I call on all citizens to participate in this precious event. This is a day for all of us, a day to remember a fellow Tanzanian standing for the nation,” said Dr Biteko
He called on journalists and your media as well as social networks to cooperate with the government in educating the community about the history of our heroes, the value of their contribution and the reason for us to keep remembering them every year.
He spoke of the preparations for the Heroes Day celebrations and said that it is going well and the official guest at the event is expected to be the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, emphasizing that the day is special for remembering, commending and honoring our heroes who gave their lives, their strength and their sacrifices for freedom, peace and national development.
He explained that in honor, at 6:00 on the night of July 24, 2025 the day before the climax of the celebration, the Torch of the Heroes Memorial will be officially launched by the Dodoma Regional Commissioner, Mrs. Rosemary Senyamule on behalf of the President to mark the commencement of the mourning of our heroes.
He said on the anniversary of July 25, 2025 from 3:00 am there will be an official parade of honor to be held by the defense and security forces.
He said at 6:00 pm on the same date the Torch of the Heroes Memorial will be officially canceled to mark the conclusion of the mourning of the heroes by 2025.
The national anniversary of the Heroes Day is held every year on July 25, 2025 with the aim of remembering the heroes who lost their lives on the battlefield, who retired after serving the nation faithfully and those who suffered injuries in protecting our country.
