The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Alhaj Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has called on parents, guardians, the community and believers of the Islamic religion in general to educate the youth in good ethics, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace especially as we head towards the 2025 General Elections.
President Dr. Mwinyi said on July 11, 2025, after praying the Friday Prayer, Masjid Lilah Kianga, Urban Region, Western District ‘A’.
President Dr. Mwinyi said the content of the Friday Khutba focused on the better upbringing of the youth and the importance of prayer, noting that many youth have been missing the right direction and engaging in evil acts such as drugs, robbery and theft, a situation that is causing the erosion of morals in society.
He thanked the leadership of the Masjid Lilah mosque for giving him the opportunity to deliver his greetings, emphasizing that religious leaders have an important role in educating the community morally and spiritually.
President Dr. Mwinyi said development, worship and social welfare cannot be achieved without lasting peace. On that basis, he urged religious and political leaders to work together to ensure that peace continues to be protected and promoted.
