Dar es Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Mr. Albert Chalamila has called on the people of the region to come out in large numbers in the legal aid campaign for ‘Mama Samia Legal Aid’ expected to take place from June 16 to June 25, 2025.
With a view to addressing various legal challenges including land disputes and issues of sexual violence.
The campaign is being conducted in cooperation between the Dar es Salaam Regional Office and the Ministry of Constitutional and Legalism with the sponsorship of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Samia and is known as ‘Samia Legal Aid Campeign’ which is expected to be launched by Prime Minister Mr Kassim Majali at the Maturubai Mbagala District of Temeke in the city.
Speaking in Dar es Salaam the Regional Commissioner, Mr. Albert Chalamila said the aim of the campaign was to help citizens address the concerns and legal challenges to bring about justice, equality, peace and development so he called on citizens with legal challenges to emerge.
Mr. Chalamila said the Mama Law Aid campaign will be launched on June 16,2025 at Maturubai Mbagala Stadium in the city and after launching the campaign will go to all districts of the region.
Mr. Chalamila said in the city apart from land disputes there have been cases of sexual violence so there will be legal experts and gender desks so that the goal of President Dr. Samia to run the campaign to succeed.
Legal Services Director from the Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Ester Msambazi said the campaign was implemented in 2023 and had reached five regions of Zanzibar and 25 regions of Mainland Tanzania had already reached and helped over 2 million people.
