In ensuring that education on clean cooking energy reaches every Tanzanian, TANESCO CEO, Mr. Lazaro Twange has used part of the tour to promote the use of Clean Energy.
Mr. Twange did this while inspecting the development of power projects in the Lake Zone and promoting the use of clean cooking energy, especially electricity, to leaders of Regional and District Governments to increase awareness among the citizens.
Mr. Twange after educating them, presented gifts of smart stoves with low-energy technology to the Shinyanga Regional Commissioner, Mrs. Anamringi Macha, the Simiyu Regional Commissioner and Mr. Kenani Kihongosi.
others are the Mwanza Regional Commissioner, Mr. Saidi Mtanda, the Nyamagana District Commissioner, Mrs. Amina Makilagi, and the Shinyanga District Commissioner, Attorney Julius Mtatiro as part of TANESCO’s campaign to continue promoting the use of clean cooking energy using electricity.
He said that despite the Corporation’s commitment to ensuring that citizens receive reliable electricity services, they still have a responsibility to implement in practice the Agenda of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan to ensure that citizens use clean energy for cooking and he has provided these stoves to Government leaders to get a real picture of the benefits of using electricity for cooking so that they can be good ambassadors to the citizens.
“These devices use less electricity for cooking and we have provided these stoves for cooking so that you can help us motivate and increase awareness among the citizens because you will be witnesses and good ambassadors to explain the benefits of these stoves, a step that will attract more citizens and change attitudes”, emphasized Mr. Twange
The Shinyanga District Commissioner, Mr. Julius Mtatiro, has commended TANESCO for the strategy which has a sincere intention of reforming education on the use of clean energy to make citizens abandon the use of unsafe energy that has health effects on consumers and is a source of environmental damage.
“We have received the gift of a stove, we are grateful, we will use our meetings with the citizens to provide education on the use of clean energy and our citizens are honest, I believe they will understand and now we will educate them with actions”, explained, Mr. Mtatiro.
The visit of the Director of TANESCO, Mr. Lazaro Twange to the Lake Region Regions is aimed at inspecting electricity generation projects and increasing the emphasis on the use of clean cooking energy as a continuation of the campaign conducted by TANESCO to ensure that the Government’s agenda is successful.
