The Uhuru Torch 2025 will be chased at 35.03km and will launch projects worth 79,255,160,719.44 in the Dar es Salaam region.
This was stated on June 01, 2025 by the Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Mr. Albert Chalamila when he welcomed the Uhuru Tourch from the Lindi Region at the Mbagala Mbagala Bus Station in Temeke District.
Mr. Chalamila speaking during the reception of the Freedom Torch race 2025 said the projects that will be launched by the Torch are in complete and others are in various stages of Uhuru Tourch.
He said when the Uhuru Torch passes, it would be promoting a variety of development activities, love, peace, solidarity and patriotism.
He said the Uhuru Torch Race will encourage the public about participating in the 2025 General Election in peace and quiet for the development of our nation.
Mr. Chalamila went on to say that Dar es Salaam will join all Tanzanians in receiving the 2025 Uhuru Torch Race delegation aimed at educating and mobilizing all citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania to emerge and participate in the 2025 general elections in peace and stability.
He said the slogan of the Torch race this year says “come forward to participate in the 2025 general elections in peace and quiet”.
He said along with the permanent message of the freedom torch race on the fight against the deadly disease of HIV, AIDS, malaria, drugs, nutrition and corruption.
He emphasized it is good to continue to protect ourselves from these dangerous diseases as well as to fight corruption and drugs in our communities.
Mr. Chalamila said Dar es Salaam will run the Uhuru Torch starting with Temeke District on June 01, Kigamboni District on June 02, Ilala District on June 03, Kinondoni District on June 04 and ending with Ubungo District on June 05, 2025 and then handing over the Tanga Region on June 06 to continue its race.
