The Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Mr. Albert Chalamila has called on nurses in the country to work with integrity and in accordance with the principles of their work law to protect the health of the people.
and that the Regional Government recognizes and appreciates the work of nurses in protecting the health of the people
Speaking to the nurses, on May 23,2025 in Dar es Salaam at the celebration of regional nurses’ day held at the Ubungo Plaza hall, the Regional Commissioner, Mr. Albert Chalamila said nurses are an important pillar in the provision of health services, so it is important to continue working with integrity and following work ethics.

Mr. Chalamila has called on the community to recognize and appreciate the work done by nurses and stressed that the Regional Government will continue to collaborate with the Ministry of Health to further strengthen the environment for the provision of health services, also emphasizing that the community continues to recognize the health policy that requires citizens to contribute to the service.
Also, Mr. Chalamila has stressed that residents of Dar es Salaam and Tanzanians in general continue to pay taxes according to the law because taxes are the means to improve social services including health services.
He has thanked the President, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for the way he has been strengthening access to health services and urged nurses to be a great comfort to patients by providing them with quality services.
The President of the Tanzania Nurses Association, Mrs. Tanna Ezekiel Henry has urged nurses to continue to do their jobs professionally and by following the laws and regulations of the profession.
Mrs. Tanna has also urged the community to respect the nursing profession because it protects the health of citizens.
The President of the Tanzania Midwives Association [TAMA], Dr. Beatrice Mwilike has spoken about the importance of men’s participation in the health of pregnant women during childbirth and that they continue to strengthen training for midwives to improve services.
A nurse from Mloganzila Hospital, Mr. Kaleb Kiula while reading a letter has asked the Government to control the work of some artists who mock the nursing profession.
The celebration, which has the theme “Nurses: A Force for Change in the World”, saw nurses light a candle of love and take an oath to work with integrity and maintain confidentiality before the Regional Commissioner.
