New Energy Ministry Audit Committee inspects power projects in Coast Region

The new Energy Ministry Audit Committee has visited power projects in Coast Region to observe their implementation and thereafter advised the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy on the management of the Ministry’s resources including the implementation of projects.

The visit was held at the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project (JNHPP) and the Chalinze Power Distribution and Cooling Station in Coast Region on May 19-20, 2025 and witnessed the implementation of the projects which have been completed.

The Chairman of the Committee, Engineer Kenneth Nindie has commended the Government for the great work it is doing for the broad interests of the citizens and the Nation as a whole.

He said the Sixth Phase Government has invested a lot of money in power projects, so the Ministry of Energy’s responsibility is to ensure good project management so that the value for money is seen.

The committee has also urged contractors assigned to implement projects to be patriotic by adhering to standards and quality so that the projects being implemented will last for a long time and bring positive results to Tanzanians.

“We commend the Government for doing a great job of implementing major projects for the broad benefit of the people, we strongly urge contractors to be patriotic in carrying out their duties, the contracts signed should be observed by implementing work to standards and quality so that these projects will be productive for the Nation”, said Engineer Nindie
