The leadership of Muhimbili National Hospital-Mloganzila has met and held talks with the leadership of Coastal Regional Referral Hospital Tumbi with the aim of discussing areas of exchange of experience especially in the area of surgical services and advanced surgical treatment.
Speaking at the meeting, the Assistant Director of Surgical Services MNH-Mloganzila, Dr. Godlove Mfuko said that the hospital has enabling infrastructure, professional experts, modern medical equipment that uses modern technology and a calm environment for patients.
Dr. Mfuko added that Muhimbili Mloganzila is the only hospital that provides kidney transplant services by harvesting the kidney from the patient using small holes (Hand assisted laparoscopic donor nephrectomy) in the country.
Dr. Mfuko noted that the hospital will continue to build the capacity of specialists from lower-capacity hospitals to reduce the inconvenience for citizens to go to higher hospitals to seek these services.
For his part, the Chief Physician of the Coast-Tumbi Regional Referral Hospital, Dr. Amani Malima, said they are ready to gain experience from highly specialized hospitals like Muhimbili Mloganzila to ensure that citizens receive quality services on time without having to travel long distances.
