Tanesco has said that the Katavi and Kigoma regions will be connected to the National Grid by the end of this May so that they can get reliable electricity.
This was said by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Dotto Biteko on May 02, 2025 while inspecting the Uhuru-Tabora power receiving and cooling station.
“The construction of the Uhuru power receiving and cooling station will make Tabora Region the source of electricity for the Katavi and Kigoma Regions, by the end of this May, Katavi Region will be connected to the National Grid”, Dr. Biteko
He continued to say that the Ministry believes that Tanzanians want electricity, they do not want words and they are there to bring electricity to Tanzanians.
