Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Dotto Biteko has ordered Tanesco to provide 4 billion shillings for the completion of the concrete pole factory.
Dr. Biteko said yesterday that the factory needs 6.8 billion shillings to be completed and construction began in October 2024. They have requested 4 billion shillings to complete the construction of the factory, which will take 9 months to complete.
“I want to direct Tanesco to provide the funds so that the Tabora factory can be completed because the esteemed president ordered that he wants to see concrete poles produced in large quantities”, said Dr. Biteko
He said the factory, which has the capacity to manufacture 120 poles per day for Tabora region and neighboring regions, belongs to the government but the government is encouraging similar plots to be built in other regions and the private sector.
