RC Dar to pay for 200 people to participate in Mbeya Marathon

The Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Mr. Albert Chalamila, has said that he will pay for 200 people’s one-way fares to participate in the Tulia Marathon which is expected to be held on May 9 – 10, 2025 in Mbeya.

Mr. Chalamila said yesterday, April 15, 2025, speaking to reporters at his office in Dar es Salaam when he was presented with a special jersey to participate in the Betika Mbeya Tulia Marathon.

Mr. Chalamila has explained why he recognizes the good work being done by the Tulia Trust Foundation. The region will begin a training camp for the Betika Mbeya Tulia Marathon this month, April 19, 2025, starting at 12:00 AM in the Aghakan area to Cocobeach.

In addition, through the event, those who do well in the Marathon will be given 200 baht by his office for the people of Dar es Salaam to travel to Mbeya to participate in the Betika Mbeya Tulia Marathon, and the return trip will be at their own expense.

Mr. Chalamila said that exercising is to support the efforts of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, to encourage the community to exercise to avoid non-communicable diseases that have had a major impact on society.

The Betika Gaming Information Officer, Mr. Rugambwa Pius, said that they had come to see the Regional Commissioner and presented him with a jersey to participate in the Betika Mbeya Tulia Marathon with the aim of welcoming him personally but also the people of Dar es Salaam so that they can participate in the Marathon in greater numbers, joining the residents of Mbeya and other areas within our country of Tanzania.
